Now in its sixth year, the Golden Oak program encourages new adult readers to read and discuss books that have been specially selected for them by librarians and literacy specialists.

On January 16th at 3:00 p.m. ET, you can find out more about this exciting program and how you can encourage and promote reading for pleasure in your community by participating in a special Ontario Library Association Education Institute hosted by Brenda Livingston and Tina Natale from Toronto Public Library’s Adult Literacy Services.

Just to clarify – this is an audio workshop. Imagine, you don’t even have to leave the office!
If you have a speaker phone more than one can join in . A great way to exchange ideas with colleagues around the province.

How can I participate in the audio workshop? How do I register?

Hi, Jayne. I just spoke with Liz Kerr at the Ontario Library Association. She coordinates the Education Institute. It seems that today’s Golden Oak audio-conference has been postponed and they’re waiting for a new date. It seems that the enrolment needed to be higher to proceed this afternoon. As soon as I find out about a new date and time, I’ll put up a posting here on the Blog.
Cheers,
Mary
